Williams Bros Brewing Co may sound like relative newcomers to the real ale world, but in actual fact it is simply a rebranding of the established Heather Ale Ltd in Alloa. Probably best known for their Historic Ales range, most notably Fraoch, Williams Bros have launched a range of ‘house’ brands intended to move away from the more unusual flavours into more standard ale tastes. The name gives it away – this is a ruby-coloured malty ale which complements the lighter Gold and the heavier, stout-like Black also in the range. Well worth the price!
