Ale Lang Syne
I left Chris and Casey in the Guildford Arms and went to meet Erin and some of her friends at McCowan’s at Fountainpark. I had lasagne (I remember feeling that some hearty grub was exactly what I needed at that point!) and I was pleased to wash this down with the first of Caledonian’s seasonal ales: Ale Lang Syne. Released to celebrate 250th anniversary of The Bard’s birth, a rich-coloured amber ale which apparently was brewed to be served with haggis. However, no haggis on the menu tonight (Burn’s night tomorrow, and you can’t really have haggis two nights in a row on Weight Watchers) so I had to make do with the lasagne.
